  • FBI Investigation into College MBB Recruiting

    http://www.espn.com/mens-college-bas...-investigation

Sean Miller from Arizona caught on a wire tap discussing paying a recruit $100,000 to come to UA. That coupled with the other reports out there saying that the NBA Agent Dawkins has records of payments to many schools. Duke, North Carolina, Kentucky, Michigan State, and Texas among others are implicated in addition to Louisville, Southern California, and Auburn from earlier reports.

This is going to get very ugly moving forward. What will be interesting is when all of this stuff is released. What effect will it have on the institutions and the head coaches involved? What will it mean for the NCAA Tournament? Will teams involved be banned from the tournament? Will the players alleged be ineligible to play?

This has the potential to really explode and rock the college basketball world to the core.

    MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM, BIZUN!!!

It's about to hit the fan, but it will be interesting to see if they act fast enough to impose sanctions for this year's postseason.

The question is then will the kids and coaches involved in these violations be punished or will the coach simply go to a new team and the athlete turn pro and leave the younger teammates to deal with the sanctions and lack of NCAA tournament eligibility. I say let the innocent go to another team without penalty.

And they typically do in this circumstance - at least the older players. I believe that is what they did with Ole Miss football this past fall. To-be seniors were free to leave without penalty and some other, younger players were appealing to get the same treatment via a waiver process.
