The addition of NKU further stabilizes The Summit League as some had thought either IUPUI or Fort Wayne might be candidates for the Horizon league

The $1 million exit fee ought to add a layer of stability as well. I am still thinking that Douple should have another school primed for the Summit League. Returning to travel partners for basketball would seem nice.

my guess is he has had talks with UND and UMKC. UMKC has to just figure out they made the wrong decision. As for UND you have to wait for them to figure something out about football first, which who knows.

UND has to figure their nickname issue out. That school is a disaster.

Yes, it's too bad that the North Dakota Nothings can't rejoin their former NCC rivals.

UMKC still has their sights set on hosting the WAC tourney. The Las Vegas numbers brought 1723 for the men's final game. The women's final brought 888. New Mexico St won both men and women tourney. The WAC used the potential basketball tournament host for the Roos to add to the package for recruiting over to the WAC. They also helped or paid all of the exit fee for the Summit expense. The Roos are still working on improving their basketball programs with a bit of improvement for the men and not so much for the women. UMKC would not be an RPI improvement for the Summit basketball at this time, but they would be a great fit for the footprint. If they can keep Richardson as the men's coach, the men's program should become competitive. The women's program seems to be approaching Centenary level.
