IMO, the ORU departures are probably a combo of kids not wanting to be at ORU and coaches cleaning house a little (telling kids they aren't going to play) so they can retool their roster to fit the Summit league's style of play.

I am going to agree and add that Scott Sutton has known this since maybe the first day of practice. I thought Coach Sutton body language in Brookings was interesting. He sat through most the game not saying much. You could have mistaken him for a disinterested fan. Too me that is not Sutton coaching but a man with personnel problems.

          Interesting prospect.

It would be tough to play for the Citadel.

Jake Wright would be a solid pick-up if the Jacks could get him. Perhaps this is where Bromans scholarship goes to.

Wonder how many of these other schools have a ROTC program if he was still pursuing the military. May have had a better record, but looks like some problem in the middle of their conference season. Went from sort of a W-L-W-L type of year to a L-L-L- for quite a spell.

This is a guy I thought we would get out of high school and was surprised by him going so far from home to a school like Albany. Averaged 26 points per game his senior year. I'm sure Ian will be recruiting him hard to come to SDSU.

Interesting to see these Minnesota kids commit to a school far away from home only to transfer out a year later. There's no doubt this trend will continue and we'll hear Tyus Jones is transferring back home here soon.

It's interesting that when you click on Baker's Yahoo page that it lists three guards with similiar games and Deondre Parks is one of the three. A player like this would be ideal with his sit-out year being next year when we don't need any more guards. Then in his first year of eligibility there will be all kinds of playing time available , plus he would have three years of eligibility remaining.

I saw this and thought the same thing.

Unless State can find a dominate post player that can play right away you have to assume they bring in a transfer. I'm not sure if Wheeler is good enough, etc. SDSUs feelings could have changed or maybe they haven't. Either way I think they risk pissing off all the players if they bring in a guard that can play right away. It's time for guys like Flatten and Severyn to get some more minutes.

Wheeler shot 37 percent behind the arc last year, and averaged 5 points in 13 minutes. He won't be eligible to play next year, but will be able to help take over for Deondre when he graduates. I think he would be a great fit. Severyn and Flatten will still be able to get minutes in that 2/3 spot. He may even be able to play some point guard for us. In that case, Flatten and Severyn won't be competing with him for minutes at all.

This! The support the Jacks get at Frost and the Summit League Tournament should be huge inducement for area players to stay close to home to play in front of family and friends.

Both Jake Wright and Wheeler Baker had decent years for being true freshmen at the DI level. I think either of them could be a welcome addition to the Jackrabbit roster come 2016-17 if they take what they learn this year and work hard to apply it to their game during their year off.
