Good get by Yotes. Their last couple of incoming transfers worked out pretty well for them (Yackley, Harrington). When was the last time SDSU got a transfer recruit? I know Jill Sargent (Young) transferred from Creighton but I can't recall any other ones.
Some of the irony of this young gal is that she was playing for Ryun Williams(predating Amy Williams) and she is one of the more productive players leaving CSU. The yotes have had a long list of transfers. Seekamp and Contreras are also on the transfer list of current players. Caitlin must have wanted to be back in South Dakota. She will stiffen the yotes game when Seekamp and Contreras graduate.
Best to remember these are kids and they are doing everything they can to entertain us, be scholars, and all in all be great humans. Jackedforlife

Contreras was a juco transfer. Seekamp was not a transfer.

The starting lineup at Colo St changed just about completely this year, lots of overseas players.I wonder how much that has to do with the four transfering out?
Looks like the coaching staff are taking the Express route to moving their basketball program along.Happens every year in certain schools and certain coaches.Scholarships are one year at a time I guess.Just my opinion.Glad we have AJ.

Contreras was a juco transfer. Seekamp was not a transfer.
Seekamp must have lost a year of eligibility along the way since her first year as a yote was her sophomore year. She has completed her junior year this year and her first year was as a sophomore and MVP of the Summit League Tournament. Did she miss a year to an injury 2011-12?

She sat out as a redshirt the year 2011-2012 with only three yrs of eligibility left her bio says,I'm thinking she used one year overseas playing in Australia? Is that possible? USD got her for only three years, whatever the reason.

The bio indicates she graduated prep school Dec 2009 and participated in U18 that year. She then participated with U19 and U 20 teams in South Australia. I guess that means under 19 age and under 20 age since each year in the bio moves her to a different team. There was no mention of a college, but she was a member of Adelaide Link Lightning of the Women's National Basketball League in 2010 forward. She may have burned some eligibility with the post prep league in Australia. Technically, she may not be a transfer since no college was listed during that time. http://www.goyotes.com/sports/w-bask...mp_802045.html http://www.goyotes.com/sports/w-bask...050211aaa.html

Yes. I believe the NCAA rule that once you graduate HS you can't play organized basketball. If you do you lose a year of eligibility each year you play even before you step on a college campus. Recently this was addressed by a former military vet who played rec ball for 5 years before going to college. Her question was what was her equivalent Senior year in Australia and whether her last year in the Aussie league should count against her eligibility
