Well, the last time a player on the Jacks got busted for weed, he left the team. However, weed is a less harmful drug than alcohol and if the country saw that if they legalized weed and put heavy taxes on it, it could go a long way in getting rid of the debt and stop spending so much money on the War on Drugs

The fact of the matter is that Marijuana is illegal, and Pelini knows that and should know better than getting involved with this. He must be fired for his poor judgement. Stupidly, a DWI is more likely to be forgiven than smoking a joint, but such is life in our current system.
I think it's generational, like a lot of issues these days. An extremely large percentage of the current generation (18-25, give or take some years on each side) doesn't have any problems with pot, no matter what their political leanings are. In fact, most polling/data suggests that age, and not political party, is the biggest determining factor for whether someone is for or against a lot of social issues such as gay marriage, weed, etc. I found that interesting.
I do agree that the coach showed poor judgement, but I refuse to actually give a **** that an adult smoked pot when there are so many people that do it and lead normal, healthy lives, including athletes.

I still can't believe people care that adults smoke some dope.
I guess I may have given the wrong impression. It wasn't the drug of choice, but the fact this b was easily avoidable. And yes illegal. Dumb but illegal. If pot was legal I would still have no desire for it. I do however appreciate some good booze. But that's just me.
I agree. But just like with alcohol, there are degrees. There's a difference between having a glass of wine with dinner 3 times a week and alcoholism and alcohol dependence. Just like there is a difference between toking up on a weekend and watching stupid movies and the high all the time pop culture stoner trope.
It also depends on the person. Some people can handle drinking alcohol casually while some people can't. Same with weed. (Insert something about personal liberties and freedoms or something blah blah.)
The thing I DO agree with is that the coach should have known how it would come off and put himself in a better situation. I just find it stupid that it is necessary to do so.

Maybe we can get Meadows back and get back to the same old boring offense we had last year! Remember that? (insert sarcasm)

Well he was sure good at developing offensive linemen, it wasnt untill the end actually after Eideness came back that the running game was struggling blocking or passing. wasnt there one here towards before he left the o line gave up like 6 sacks all year? He put a lot of guys in NFL training camps and rosters. Personally I would like to see Darren Wilkenson come back as the O cordinator. Felt he really didnt get enough credit for what he did.

I happen to agree with you. Now, I didn't like the way some of the games were called but you can certainly say that he was getting execution from the line. We need that back whomever the coach is if want to be successful.
Now we are seeing the other side of the coin. Most coaches would not go near these kind of parties, but if a coach has a problem with drugs, yah, he will show up. Its sad, but Mr. Pelini, needs a rehab program to straighten him out. Such a waste of good coaching talent. We could see him back in coaching with some sobriety. This is why these things are a big deal RO, not picking on you but your opening response to this thread. I don't see it as a generational thing, its just that we have not been able to recognize addiction that has been here as long as the drugs in use have been here.
BTW, it took courage for his staff and those close to him to sign those affidavits. Having knowledge of a drug abuse and addiction and not saying anything is making these people enablers.
I don't expect Luke Meadows to be issuing any kind of statement about this situation. He has his own future at stake.
