TIBBS Basketball Academy director Matt Wilber. I did not find his name on the HPER employee directory, but he might be an alum. Stu mentions that Josh Mueller is also a candidate. Good for Josh.

Pretty sure Matt was an assistant coach for a season or two. May have even been a graduate assistant position.
Here is the Bio on Matt, he did earn a masters at SDSU and my apologies to Rabbit Nation, I guess I was thinking current staff and had forgotten past GA's.

Wilber was a PG for Augustana from 1998-2002. This was during my undergrad days, and our student section used to give him a lot of guff. He took it and played along with it. Also, he was a great amateur baseball pitcher, he had a lot of success with the Dell Rapids Mudcats. Anyway, that has little to do with SDSU, but good luck to Matt.
Just an aside: What happened with Shane Murphy? Did he just resign and get out of the business again.
He was an assistant under Boots, and had a pretty good run at USF before he "got out of coaching".
Then he got "pulled back in" to the DWU job.
Just wondering.
I don't have a clue, but Shane Murphy was one of two or three transfers from D1 which made USD a force to contend with in the late 1980's. I thinking he played with Ryun Williams. If its about wins and losses, it looks like Shane was judged on that and he is now gone. Also going from USF to DWU was a step down, and seems like Shane did real well at USF. Not an easy one to figure nor will there be anything public for a long time.
I guess I should have googled but KDLT says he is returning to private business. Also he came to USD from Drake. I trying to think of the other guy who was a post who also came from Drake.
Shane Murphy can coach, and he can sell. He has decided to do the latter for a significant increase in pay over the former.
No big story here. Best of luck to Matt. Good dude and great chance for success!
I was not implying there was any kind of a story. da coach was curious about his departure. I stated I did not have a clue and I did not until I came across the KDLT release and I would agree Shane can sell, and the private sector look greener. THAT IS THE STORY. His two last seasons were less than remarkable in wins and a good reason to leave coaching for as you suggested FOR a significant pay increase. Why hang around something that is no longer fun to do?
