Jake White, So Fwd from Chaska, MN, has been given a release from Wichita State.

From reading the article I get the impression he approached the situation being less than he desired as an adult and I applaud that.

I like how Coach Greg Marshall handled the situation as well as Jake White. There really should be more of this when things don't work out.

I think we have a good chance of getting this guy. You would think we have SOME connection through our preseason scrimmage, and I read he wants to be the guy shootin the chilloopa, which after he sits out a year he would be that guy in 14-15

Over on the ole shocker fan forums a few people agreed that he was committing to south dakota, by god you would think they meant south dakota state

Don't think SDSU has a spot for him (unless he walks on or a current scholarship holder leaves the team). USD has a couple spots that opened up recently (Bartling is transferring and Tecker is forgoing his senior year because of a chronic injury).

dam he may be going to south dakota. there wouldn't be a spot for him this coming year, but in 14-15 we'll then have 2 available spots because of horstman and prince?

Boots seems to often have the inside track on transfers, but if White has to sit a year, which I believe is the case, then we could still be in the hunt. Who knows, I dont.

If he transfers to another Div I school he will have to sit out.

Thats my understanding and with four seniors on the roster next season, I would think we would have room for him in 14-15 season.

That is true, but he isn't going to come and be a walk-on for a year when he can get a scholarship at another program.

The guy had some solid offers out of college, yet I can't find SDSU having any interest or him showing any interest in SDSU. I think SDSU has to do its due diligence but with the lack of transfer success I'd be shocked if he ended up at SDSU.

He has visits set up for Nebraska-Omaha and North Dakota
