Re: Kentucky AT Robert Morris- NIT

Sounds like Wigggins will end up at Florida State, that is unless someone can "convince" him to go elsewhere. Said Kentucky, Kansas and North Carolina didn't impress him, and those 3 with Florida State were his finalist.

With as bad as this draft class is, and as good of recruiting class as Kentucky has that all of the ones that could leave will leave.

Was he the only player with a 5 star rating? What did those other 5 star recruits do? Couldn't even beat Robert Morris.

Certainly, that should give you pause before putting stock in such a ridiculous rank.

And as much as everyone wants teams to do it the "right way," that way is gone. I love all of the faux outrage levied by old, white sports writers.
First: There's been cheating about as long as there's been college athletics. There were no 'good ol' days.'

Second: Let's run with the "big time basketball and football is basically professional athletics." Let's run with that. It *is* professional athletics. And it is TERRIBLE professional athletics. Louisville couldn't beat the Sioux Falls Skyforce, and Louisville's probably got a much higher budget.

Noel was the heart and soul of the team. They were on a winning streak and were coming back against Florida when he tore his ACL. He was putting up Anthony Davis numbers before he tore his ACL! Kentucky would not have won without Davis last year either. They lost their top 6 guys from last year. Also, ESPN had them as the #2 recruiting class last year so it's not like they were the best recruiting class. Also, Poythress, Cauley-Stein and Goodwin said they are returning next year along with the getting the #1pg, #1sg, #2sg, #5pf, #25pf, #1c, and are in the running for the #1pf, #1sf, and #3sf. If they get one more of those recruits, it has been reported that would be the best recruiting class of all time. Also, this last years recruiting class was the weakest class Coach Cal has had since he was in Memphis.

Is anyone making odds on how long it will be before Calamari bails on Kentucky when the NCAA starts sniffing around ? It happened at UMass and Memphis , and at some point Kentucky will have to start vacating titles just like they have had to do at his previous gigs.

Ignorance at its best right there. It has been proven many times and said by the NCAA that Cal had nothing to do with UMass and Memphis losing their final fours. Smh

If you believe that , I've got some beachfront property for you to look at. Just a coincidence that it happened at both his previous stops . lol

Because it sure is Coach Cal's fault that DRose couldn't pass the SAT

Calipari failed in the NBA with NBA talent.

This year he failed in the NCAA with NBA talent.

Maybe next year will be like last year.

Weakest NBA talent hes had in Kentucky and nobody rated in top 12 that ended the year with Kentucky and the ones that are rated in top 30 are based on potential not their current skill level

I believe at both UMass and Memphis the problem was agents hooking up with players before their eligibilty was used up. At both places , assistant coaches and/or boosters took the fall because Slick didn't know anything about it. After recruiting , establishing deny-ability is one of Coach Cal's strongest attributes.

O really now. NCAA ruled on Thursday that Derrick Rose had played the season while academically ineligible because his SAT score was ruled invalid.
From UMASS: Camby also said his teammates on the 1995-96 team were unaware of his dealings with agents.
In Memphis, it was Derrick Rose not being able to pass the SAT and having somebody else take it for him and in UMass, it was Marcus Camby taking money from agents when nobody knew.

If you are at two separate schools and the banners are taken down, I don't care what the situation is, you deserve to have some of the blame ,and to get looked at and talked about wherever you go.

I believe Calapari has even said he should have spotted it with Camby. And as far as Derrick Rose, I've had friends who were recruited by NAIA schools and the coaches know about the ACT/SAT test, they know what is going on. If somehow your top recruit who is having problems all of a sudden is fine to go, shouldn't something say hey what is going on?

I'm not saying Calapari was behind any of those incidents but I think he, like other coaches go out of their way in making sure they don't know anything about it.

1 - If Davis goes down, I'm pretty sure last year's UK team at least wins *one* game in the NIT.

2 - So the #2 recruiting class in the country basically can't be counted on to win a single game in the NIT if its best player goes out with an injury.

4 - So Calipari's worst class ever was the #2 class in the country per ESPN, and the #1 class in the country per CBSSports....?

                                1. Yes it does, but it also had Darius Miller as a senior leader on the defensive end and he was a better player than Julius Mays as well having a better player at pretty much every spot.
                                2. #1 recruiting class was UCLA and they have Larry Drew and the Wear twins and they are just a 6 seed that is picked to be upset in the first round. Maybe the class this year just wasn't that good. 3. Napolean video? That movie is just ok. Also, its not my words, it is recruiting analysts words.
                                4. Yes this last years class was the worst class hes had since he has got to Kentucky.

EDIT: Kentucky just got a commitment from Julius Randle today, so Kentucky has the #1pg, #1sg, #2sg, #1PF, #5PF, #25PF, #1C. Kentucky will be just fine
