  • New BOR Athletic Report FY2012

Forgot which thread we usually post this in but the FY2012 Athletic report is out!

    http://sdbor.edu/theboard/agenda/2012/December/28.pdf

As is tradition, we rocked it. Gate receipts at SDSU are $1,324,899. The other 5 schools combined $469,011. We are now at 2.8 times the gate of the rest of the schools combined and 4.75 times more receipts than USD's $278,912

    Go Jacks!

Also here is the previous years to compare. FY 2011 http://sdbor.edu/theboard/agenda/2011/DecCommB/I_E.pdf (edited original link was wrong).

Those numbers are stunning. Maybe not so stunning on our end as how stunningly bad the other 5 institutions numbers are...in particular our conference mate. They better be doing a ton of fundraising with those awful numbers. Go Jacks!!

Thanks for posting this. Only reaffirms what everyone already knew.

All I can say is WOW! I would like to see ours higher, and expect in the future it will be higher. But USD at under $300,000. They are going to have to figure something out down there.

SDSU's concession revenue was only $20K less than USD's gate receipts!

This is from 2 years ago, right? The year USD played 2 guarantee games? I would have to think their gate receipts would be better this season.

Would be interested to see NDSU's numbers in a similar format.

This would be the 2011-2012 school year and FY2012 Fiscal year so technically starting 16 months ago with football in September 2011. Next year there will be some definite changes in USD's report. Their gate receipts will be up substantially from the NDSU game in Sioux Falls but they only played one guarantee football game like you mentioned. They will also start receiving NCAA revenue sharing next year which will be close to $1 million.

Two other interesting points that I will highlight

              1. USD increased their football budget from $2 M to $2.5 Million or a 25% increase
              2. A large share of their increased revenue came from University General Funds- $541,000. Up 26% from 2011.

I know TV did an article last August on gate receipts where I think he mentioned the NDSU gate receipts. I will try and find it later today.
