according to an article i read the Grinnel coach is famous for this type of thing. they schedule a game against a weaker team and select a player to set the record.. they do a full court press with four players and leave the shooter in the offensive end. they press and if they can't get the steal they let the other team score, bring the ball down and pass it to the shooter at the three line. if he misses and they get the rebound even if the rebounder has an open shot he will pass it back out to the shooter. so far at least three Grinnel players have held the record.
