A link from the Fargo Forum.

How old is Dorn? Is it time for her to retire?

      Re: NDSU women's ad suspended...................

It said in the Forum article that Dorn was 62 and I suspect she could retire under their system. The date of Feb 23 is key to what happened and I checked the Women's bb schedule and no game was played on that date. It was five days after the Bison got their asses handed to them on Feb 18, in Brookings. I imagine they have several student interns working in the HPER and this may be what its all about. Its unfortunate as Lynn has been a loyal adminstrator and to have something like this happen now seems unlikely. I noticed AD Taylor was very uncomfortable during the presser, and ordinarily he is very upbeat as is Justin Sells when talking about their departments during the halftime radio shows.

Nothing bothers me more than when the media acts like they need to know everything. I just saw a tweet from Kolpack about having no written coaching reviews at NDSU and only verbally doing them. I dont think coaching reviews should be public record. Sometimes the media just needs to back away. They don't need to know every little detail, and either does the public.

The last para leaves one dangling; The policy states harassment may include “jokes, derogatory comments, pictures and/or direct physical advances.”

Now we really want to know the details. Lets hope its derogartory comments.

I'm reminded of the old Lone Ranger and Tonto joke, the punch line of which is "What's this 'we' stuff, white man?"
            "I think we'll be OK"

Okay I rephrase: I want to know the details. Always loved Jay Silverheels who played Tonto.

Here is Kevin Schepnf column. I guess I am not the only curious one.

My question is this: Should NDSU have tried to keep this hush hush? The column suggests that's what was done.

On one hand, it seems NDSU acted appropriately to address the issue and it's likely an adequate punishment was assessed. On the other hand, does the public have a right to know when something like this happens? Should there be a mandatory press release?

In watching the presser, and I consider Gene Taylor to be an honorable man, if all the details are released, it opens the institution to further litigation. This what I take away from the press conference. Taylor is visibly rattled and what else would rattle him but a big as$ law suit from a student. If it works like SD, the BOR had to folk over a lot of change. In the coaches discrimation suit settlement a few years back, the BOR was very unhappy with the HPER at USD. Having a NDSU VP involved also tells you something as well, there might be more coming down the road.
