Sources state that the Big East will add Boise St, SDSU (the other one), SMU and Central Florida. The growth of the "major conferences" continues.

Cue up all the geographic-illiteracy jokes . . . especially seeing as how Syracuse, one of the storied geography departments in the world, is bolting for the ACC . . . and that Penn State, one of the OTHER really world-class geography programs, shunned the Big EastNorthSoutheastMidwestSouthwestMountainwestWest Coast for the Big 10. It would appear that being numerically illiterate may be preferable to geographically illiterate. Sure the Big East is gonna keep making a ton of money. They're going to be spending it all on charter flights.

This is getting rediculus(cue spelling errors). This is one time where I wish the NCAA would stop all this confrence realignment and say enough is enough. It is crazy to have biose and the evil SDSU in a confrence on the other side of the country. I wonder how many more classes missed or travel days are required for these changes to take place. I guess it makes sense for a team like boise who needs a bigger confrence to stay relevent in the BSC picture for football, not they get a confrence that rakes in the NCAA BBall tounry money. I think confrences should be named like people name their fantasy football teams considering geography and member numbers dont really mean much. or take sponors for confrence names. So we could have big 10-as the Sanford confrence, big 12 could be Als oasis confrence, the SEC could be the Tebowed confrence........

The NCAA will be gone in major college football in 10 years. There will be 4 super-conferences that will be tired of the NCAA's bull**** and that will be that.

Contrary to popular belief the NCAA has always had very little to do with college football in regards to television marketing & the bowl games. It was the conferences themselves that created this mess due to not wanted to give over power for negotiating TV deals to the NCAA. It is the fact that the conferences themselves can't negotiate a fair deal for everyone and won't allow the governing body to mediate a fair exchange is the real problem IMO.

I think Confernce USA should give up their name and let the Big East have it. Its more appropriate now.

This is what is tearing up FBS and all NCAA football. It nearly destroyed the Big 12, 10, 9 this year. When the money gets big enough it will tear up NCAA mens basketball also. Until the money is regulated and distributed the free-for-all will continue.

The only issue with Men's basketball, is that the super conferences are concerned that they don't ge a big enough piece of the pie. If the big east & others get what they want, it will be just like football, and the NCAA will basically cease to exist, since without the basketball tourney revenue the NCAA has 0 power.

So then the end result may be the NCAA becomes the NAIA? Scary at best.
