Re: Ron Zook looking for work

Ron Zook is one of the best recruiters out there. He has had his fair share of second half failures in his career as a coach. Probably one of those guys who is better as an assistant. Illinois was a totally different team the last 6 games compared to the first 6

Turner Gill was fired as Kansas' head coach today, too.
        I am Ed. Fear me.

That's what you get for going 1-16 in conference play. Just abysmal.

Only two years? Man, that's a short time to get going with your own recruits.

He was 1-16 in conference and lost at least 10 ball games by 30 points or more. In the one win, KU came back from 28 down in the 4th quarter to win it.

Turner had decent enough recruits to not get kicked by 30 points or more in 10 of 17 conference games. It was his inability to prepare his teams or make any adjustments whatsoever that resulted in many of those blowouts. He didn't deserve another year.

Dennis Erickson out at Arizona State.

                Rick Neuheisal out at UCLA.

Houston Nutt out at Ole Miss(although they announced it a few weeks ago)

Quite a few "power" conferences looking for coaches this year.

Also, add to that list North Carolina's opening, and Penn State's.
