  • BCS chaos

Number 2 Okie St loses to Iowa St. So now it looks good for a rematch with LSU against either Bama or Oregon. LSU still has to play Arkansas and then probably Georgia in the SEC championship game. Bama finishes at Auburn. Oregon plays at home its last 2 games and then plays someone in the Pac 12 championship game. Bama seems to have the advantage as they can finish the season and sit back and wait to see what happens to LSU and Oregon. Now if LSU would get knocked off somewhere, youd have a lot of 1 loss teams that would really cause chaos. And chaos would be good for a playoff someday.

So much for chaos. It looks like we are heading for an LSU/Bama rematch. How about this scenerio. Bama beats Auburn to finish with one loss. LSU beats Arkansas but loses in the SEC championship game to Georgia. Would Bama and LSU still play? Who would go ahead of LSU? Even is Okie St beats Oklahoma, I cant see them moving ahead of them after losing to a terrible Iowa St. Va Tech has just one loss but play Virginia and then would play Clemson in the ACC championship game. Clemson is their only loss. Would they move up to number 2? Or maybe if Houston goes unbeaten they move up. Probably not. So Bama and LSU could meet in the BCS championship game and neither would be the conference champs, it would be Georgia. Think we need a playoff if that happens?

If there was a BCS playoff system, does that diminish or take a little light away from the FCS playoffs? Many think the FCS is a distant second to the BCS anyway but the one positive distinction we have is the crowning of a champion through a playoff system.

In the end the BCS is just a beauty contest with the prettiest girls going to the sexist locations for their coronation. I say let them have their process as is so ESPN, Fox Sports, CBS, NBC can make their millions selling Bud Lite and Ram pickups and alumns have a place to go for holiday parties. Gotta say that Scottsdale is a blast during the bowls.

Clemson is doing their usual imploding at the end of the season so if Va Tech gets by Virginia (which is not a sure thing) they could sneak into the title game. And I will throw up if that happens. God I hate Virginia Tech.

I find it hard to believe that too many would think a 1 loss Va Tech team is better than a 1 loss LSU team. And i will throw up with you if it happens.

I think Mango was referring to the ACC Championship game. The ACC champion has only a slightly better chance of getting into the BCS championship as the Big East champion.

I dont think he was but only Mango knows what he was referring to. If Va Tech beats Virginia, they are in the ACC championship game. Dont think they would be sneaking into that at all.

Talking National Title game. It's not likely but it could happen if LSU wins out and they decide to keep Bama out of the National Title game due to them not even playing in the SEC championship game.

Do I think it's going to happen? No but it is one of the many scenarios out there.

There are still one loss teams in the Big 12 & PAC 12. If those two stay with one loss & only one SEC team is in I would expect one of them will be in the BCS championsip. But then I've been wrong on these things before.

If im a voter, there is no way i vote a one loss Okl St team or a one loss Stanford team ahead of a one loss LSU.(if they would lose)

It's OK, Stanford is going to be out of the national title picture come Sunday morning thanks to the Irish.

They need to play a heck of a lot better than they played against BC, that's for sure.

So it looks like it will come down to LSU/Alabama. And i think those are the best two teams. But i think it should be LSU/Okie St. Why should LSU have to beat Alabama again? They alread beat them at Alabama, they already proved they were better than Alabama. Okie St looked good yesterday against the Sooners and deserve their shot. Their loss was a day after the Deaths of the Womens BB coach and his asst. I dont know if that had anything to do with their loss. My arguement is that LSU shouldnt have to prove themselves against Bama again.
