To be fair, most first offense DUIs get off with a "slap on the wrist." The suspended imposition bargain gets used by many people. I don't think that a person should be able to get any wiggle room when it comes to a DUI, but that's the law.
In my opinion there should be a 30-day jail sentence for the first offense and go up from there. But, that's just my $0.02-South Dakotan by birth, a Jackrabbit by choice.Comment
