  • Mack Brown watched the SDSU game tape

    Title says it all.

The Jacks laid out a blueprint for beating the Huskers and Mack Brown followed it to a T.

Granted, that's not quite as cool as the Jacks beating Nebraska. And without the Jacks game, I'm pretty sure Brown & Co. could've figured out what to do on their own.

    Still............

I'm pretty sure Texas went out and did pretty much what SDSU aimed to do a few weeks back. Except Texas ran both their QB & RB up the gut.

And just like against the Jacks, Martinez gets benched. No Heisman this year.

I don't. And I certainly don't think he'd say, "Well, I really have to credit SDSU for today's game plan. We had our linebackers stay home, force Martinez to pass, and we ran it up the gut because they basically run a dime defense on every play."

But I have no doubt that the SDSU game tape was broken down, analyzed, digested, and summarized with highlights for Mack. Why? Because that's what coaches and their assistants do.

          Okay.

Now I have something substantive to chew on:

This, I'm guessing, was gleaned from the coaches conference call. Sipple's the beat writer for the Huskers, and I don't think he'd throw that out there (even in blog form) without having a source.

Pro-Tip for the Huskers: recruit receivers that can, you know, catch.
