    Re: Congrats USD

Maturi & Brewster are probably both gone five minutes after the end of the last game of the season. Which, I'm going to guess, is not going to be a bowl game.

Maturi is a terrible AD. Guy had four candidates turn down the women's softball vacancy.

Congrats to USD for a nice win today, that's a nice win for your program and the state of South Dakota.

(It's the only thing I could think of that was worse than what I just had to do.)

Oh cripes. I can't imagine the ridiculous drivel being spewed over there.

Actually isn't he 2-2 against Dakota schools? Wins: NDSU/SDSU, Loses: NDSU, USD. Like you said...funny thing about both wins is that he was that "close" to being 0-4 against the Dakota schools.

I'd guess this is the likely scenario. The Minneapolis Star Tribune had a similar take. Maturi will NOT be allowed to pick another head football coach, so he'll be gone as well.

I watched the whole game on TV. Honestly, after USD stopped Minnesota on the first drive and the Goophs had to settle for a FG I had an erie feeling something big might happen for USD. They played like the team that was supposed to win. Warren was a good QB yesterday. Will be interesting to see how the rest of his year goes.

Jim Souhan seems to have had it with Coach Brewster and probably the athletic director too.

That's it. No more Dakotas for Tim Brewster. North Dakota State beat him in 2007. He barely survived South Dakota State last year. Saturday, South Dakota won 41-38 at TCF Bank Stadium.
From now on, all Dakotas will be considered mismatches for our proud rodents, including Dakota County Technical College and Dakota Fanning.

He is a wonderful recruiter in one respect. Nobody has done more to attract good football players to North and South Dakota.

The first win over NDSU was in Mason's last year I believe because they had one year where they did not play any Dakota school.

Good job Coyotes. I don't have the disdain for USD that many on this forum do. I am a partisan South Dakotan and generally want them to do well. Behind the Jacks, my favorite teams include whoever is playing the Gophers and Bison. This week I wasn't really rooting for UNI, but didn't feel bad about the Bison loss.

GO BIG GO BLUE GO JACKS Regroup and go 1-0 this week.

Good win for the Coyotes. They should be proud of it. Hopefully they maintain the level of play against their conference schedule and win the Great West.

                        Re: Congrats USD

Upon further review, this may have been Brewster's best coaching to date. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe USD's punter won Special Teams player of the week for his performance in USD's week 1 loss. I think I read that USD scored on 6 of 11 possessions, so they essentially kept USD's punter from getting into the game and making an impact on the outcome.

                          Re: Congrats USD

Beano Cook made a statement on ESPN radio this weekend that nobody is going to want to schedule a team from the Dakotas again. It just ends up in embarrassment for the FBS school.

                            Re: Congrats USD

Out of 6 FBS games (5 played already), Dakota FCS schools have won two games. Considering only 6 games out of over 120 FCS vs FBS have been wins by the FCS, Dakota schools are up there.

If SDSU wins at Nebraska, we would likely return to the top 10 in FCS.

                            Congrats 'Yotes on the win.

I'm a RABID Rabbit, not a BESERK RABBIT. I've seen the Nebraska highlights, and the Jacks at UD. I'm red in the face about the UD game. I won't turn purple holding my breath for the W against my "other" alma mater.

Hope the Jacks take down the HOOSKERS, but will settle for a close game.
