The dream is that all the DOT land is also developed and while we're talking "pie in the sky" - why not a Bass Pro-Shop to compete with Cabella's in Mitchell. Midwest to Canada traffic on I-29.

Obviously the I-90 traffic to the hills brought Cabella's to Mitchell, but we're closer to Minnesota, right? Food for thought - let's get'r done!!!

Today I spoke with a hotel developer/owner from out of town that has expressed interest, but is frankly in a wait and see 'holding pattern' to see what happens. The economy is still something of a concern and lending regulations/expectations have obviously changed in the past year+.

This developer asked if city was willing to 'assist' - my impression is quite the opposite. I believe the city would prefer to see hotel devolper 'ante-up' toward the city's share of the convention center expansion.

It's too early to say anything is a stalemate, but I believe it will be several weeks/months yet before we hear anything.
