Somebody in Winner won the Powerball

I just heard that on Fox Radio News that somebody in Winner won the $232M (annuity) Powerball jackpot.

My advise for the Winner winner:

Disappear for a week or two.

Pay the taxes.

Update your will/estate documents.

Take half of the remainder, invest it well, and NEVER TOUCH THE PRINCIPAL for that amount. You'll live like a king for the rest of your life that way. (If you need a trustworthy financial advisor, mine's pretty good )

Pick five of your favorite charities, be generous.

Pick three things you've always wanted to do in your life...do them.

Be wary of strangers offering advice. (Wait, what? )

And of course, donate generously to SDSU.

I dont live in Winner so that off the bat eliminates me. I would not mind one of the 200k winners. Shucks I guess I will hold off buying any more for a while. Lets hope its a person who is and SDSU alum and feels generous.

Filbert gives great advice. Two other suggestions:
1. Change to an unlisted phone - immediately. A guy I know won the DC lottery but got threatening calls about why a Virginia guy was taking DC money.
2. Trim the family tree - a lot. Relatives the winner never knew existed will start coming out of the woodwork.

Neat that a winner was FROM Winner.

The winner is not nescessarily from Winner. The ticket was bought in Winner, but could have been purchased by somebody passing through.

I think I have cousins in Winner, in fact I'm sure of it.

I actually do have relatives near Winner (more towards Wewela than Winner). It'll be interesting to see if they know the winner, if the winner is from Winner.

Have to believe that young Neal Wanless, the winner of the Powerball, is related to Terry Wanless, AD at UND and Sacramento State. All from the same area.
