SDSU continues to enroll, by far, the most opportunity scholarship students from South Dakota high schools. These are the best and brightest South Dakota has to offer.
This year 1,135 scholarships were awarded with 452 of the recipients attending SDSU. Behind SDSU is USD with 229. SDM&T is third with 99.
The program began in 2004. The cumulative numbers from 04-06 (not 07) show that of 1,741 still enrolled in college 714 are attending SDSU. Again, USD trails SDSU with 385.
I would say that is a decided advantage in numbers for SDSU, the states Flagship University. At least in the eyes of the "best and brightest".
