Country music entertainers Big & Rich will make a special appearance at the dedication of the Vietnam War Memorial in Pierre on Sept. 15-16.
The musical duo will sing their “Eighth of November” song, written in honor of Vietnam veteran Niles Harris of Deadwood.
Harris survived a November 1965 ambush by enemy troops in Vietnam that killed most of his companions. He recounted his war experience to the entertainers when they were in Deadwood three years ago.
