  • Regents: 2015 Fall Enrollment

The Board of Regents announced 2015 Fall enrollment figures on Tuesday. Some high points:
System-wide, enrollment decreased 93 students --actual headcount, and 52.8 in full-time equivalents.

    HEADCOUNT
    Increased:
Dakota State up 98 to 3,145
SD Tech up 45 to 2,843
    SDSU up 32 to 12,589

    Decreased:
    NSU down 84 to 3,496
    USD down 90 to 9,971
    BHSU down 94 to 4,395.

    FULL-TIME EQUIVALENT
    Increased:
    DSU up 119.2 to 1,858.9
    USD up 38.8 to 7,401.1
SD Tech up 13.4 to 2,404.6

    Decreased:
    BHSU down 37.2 to 2,882.5
    SDSU down 38.4 to 10,141.5
    NSU down 148.6 to 1,995.2

Based on the above numbers, what percentage of the 'headcount' are full-time equivalents? Having a bunch of students taking a 2-hour online class can push up 'headcount' but seems to me increasing full-time equivalents is a goal. Listed in declining order:

    SD TECH 2404.6 / 2843 = 84.58%
    SDSU: 10141.5 / 12589 = 80.56%
    USD: 7401.1 / 9971 = 74.23%
    BHSU 2882.5 / 4395 = 65.59%

    DSU 1858.9 / 3145 =59.11%
    NSU 1995.2 / 3496 = 57.07%
