I hope I havent turned this thread into about me, its about Presient Wharton after all.
Do you have Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma, Nidaros?? I was diagnosed with "NHL" early in March, and I have undergone two different chemo treatments (R-CHOP and R-ICE) and still have not had luck getting rid of the remainder, and now they're preparing me for a NK Cell clinical trial at the U of Minnesota as a bridge to a donor stem cell therapy which will use cord blood.

Take care buddy. We had a guy on Bisonville a couple days ago lose his battle with Ewing's Sarcoma. Hang in tough.

PM me with any info or questions.

You're having one heck of a battle, hang in there. Nidaros should do well on the R-CHOP regimen. Take it a day at a time, way to help keep things in perspective for the rest of us.

Cord blood, stem cells, embryonic cells, etc...they hold the key to many exciting discoveries and possible cures for some horrible diseases.

I just read on Bisonville that Bisonator passed away. Age 30, lymphoma. Damn. May he rest in peace.

RIP Bisonator my sincere condolences to his family. As I stated I had some PM exchanges with the Bisonator. A real nice person. He had some complications that I did not have. I no longer have the PM's to go back and read, but if I recall correctly, he mentioned a tumor on his spine and that that he was to undergo a stem cell treatments, which apparently did not turn his situation around. In my case, I doing as good as can be expected.

I go for a 6month check up on July 29th and I am hopeful of good results.

Assume (and hoping) the doxorubicin didn't screw with your heart. Never understood why they couldn't substitute Doxil for that, but what do I know?

It was apparently included in the R-CHOP treatment and under the name adraiamycin. So far so good. I was not about to balk on R-CHOP treatment had I known about the affects of Doxil. It was a relief to find out that I had Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma and not pancreatic cancer. My rates on heart beats have been normal all during the treatments, and if something had went wrong, I am sure I have found out by now. You librarians read too damn much stuff that you really don't understand. Take care buddy.

Doxyl is pegylated, meaning it's coated, allowing smaller, less cardiomyophic doses. However, doesn't look like it's approved for non-Hodgkins, just OvCa and MM. Always good to keep up with this, as most of us will probably get cancer if we last long enough. Just be glad it's becoming a chronic disease like diabetes. Thirty years ago, they weren't building cancer treatment mega-centers and advertising them on TV.

Always interested in how people are doing, no matter the disease, because it's good to be educated about what can get ya...

Thanks for your interest. This is one thing I will ask about on July29th. You are right about the chronic diseases. Except for the Bisonator, I have not heard of many people expiring from Lymphoma, and have been told it is one of the more treatable cancers. The publisher of RFD newsgroup, which includes the Volga Tribune and Arlington Sun died early last fall. Like the President of SDM&T, he had problems with other vital organs. In the publishers case his lungs gave out, and they had to stop the R-CHOP treatment. It might be a false sense of security, but the fact that no other problems arose during the chemo treatment leads me to believe that all is well.
