Fresh faces abound for SDSU baseball squad

Brookings Register--Fresh faces abound for SDSU baseball squad

The Jackrabbits are entering their second season of Division I competition, and after a 17-38 inaugural season, the Jacks are hoping that a revamped roster and an improved work ethic will see the program steering itself in the right direction.

SDSU lost 11 lettermen from last year's team, but brought in 22 new faces over the off-season. With a talented new core of players, the Jacks feel like they have the pieces in place to have a turnaround season. "We're excited to get started," SDSU head coach Reggie Christiansen said.

"For me, it's exciting either way," Coach Aaron Johnston said. "If we're selected and we're in a postseason tournament, obviously that's great. If we're not selected and they go a different route, we're still in the position where people are taking notice.

"To do that in Year 2 and the first year of a full Division I schedule, that's a win-win for us."
