POCATELLO - The starting lineup was more of an edict than a set of five players meant to lead the Idaho State women to victory.

ISU head coach Jon Newlee started two freshman and gave significant playing time to other little-used players, but the shakeup wasn't enough as the Bengals fell to South Dakota State, 82-70, Monday.

“There's things that are behind the scenes that will probably come out a little later,” Newlee said when asked for reasons behind the changes.

Freshman guard Jenna Brown and freshman forward Michelle Grohs were in the starting lineup, while sophomore center Natalie Doma and junior guard Joanna Hixon came off the bench. Hixon, the Big Sky's leading rebounder, played only 6 minutes against the Jackrabbits.
