Marquette returns experience. Also, the preseason POY of the Big East is on the roster which is picked to be co-champs of the Big East. Last year the Golden Eagles played the starting 5 25-31 minutes per game. Whether the 6 seniors and 3 juniors on the roster skew that balance this year is to be seen. The stat that pops out from last year was the 13.6 offensive rebounds per game. That was over 3 more than their opponents. The 5'11"(now senior) forward led the team in all rebounds. The 3 pt fg was at 32% while overall they shot 45%. This is a tough game to start the season at 11:30 in the morning. It is also the first shot for an upset of the season. It should be an entertaining game to find some traction early in the season. Go Jacks!!
Best to remember these are kids and they are doing everything they can to entertain us, be scholars, and all in all be great humans. Jackedforlife

Burckhard gets the start alongside Miller, Larson, Selland, and Guebert.

Way too many offensive rebounds/second chance points for the Golden Eagles.

We need our senior guards to start playing like seniors to stay in this game...

Playing like garbage. Too many: TO's, missed bunnies, allowed easy rebounds.

hate to say it but it's pretty typical for our women's team early in the year.

It's raining 3's and unfortunately the Jacks are the ones getting rained on.

Lots of game left. Hard to keep up when they get hot from beyond the arc

Just can't buy a bucket. We are really out of rhythm but the golden eagles may be cooling off from 3 pt lane.

Lot's of perimeter passing - having a hard time getting the ball entered into the post, or getting any dribble penetration.

Only just turned it on, but we seem so....slow compared to Marquette.

Tough start to the season. Opening on the road against a ranked team with thousands of screaming kids in the stands isn't an ideal way to start the season. I know we say this every year but I think this is one of our toughest OOC schedules ever. I also know Macy's dealing with some foot issues so I didn't expect us to be full steam at all today as it's a tough matchup for our lineup.

At least for today, Marquette seems to have a quickness advantage at all 5 positions.

Miller and Geubert are 5-18 shooting. Wont win much with that combination.
