  • GDT: Lamb Bonanza Jackrabbits vs Leathernecks @ Frost Arena 4:15

4-8 WIU comes to Brookings with 2 D1 wins over Ball St and USD. USD is their road win this year. The bison put up 94 on them in Fargo Thursday night. WIU is averaging 78.4 points per game. They are giving up 79.9. The same starting lineup has been on the floor 11 of 12 games. They will also go 5 more deep to the bench which turns in just under 20 points. Webster will lead the Leathernecks with points and assists. The other 2 guards Duff and Young are also scorers. Pyle,6'7" F, is a sophomore who was coming on last year is scoring 13.1 points with 4.8 boards and he 24-24 at the charity stripe. Claar is the post who will turn in 22.5 minutes and 7.8 points with 6.1 boards and 10 blocks. He is 7-12 at the line so must not get into the offense too much. Kyle Arrington, 6'10", is new to the Leathernecks and he was a teammate of Douglas Wilson at Kirkwood Community College. He is getting 9.1 minutes and he averages 4.1 points and 2.4 boards. WIU is chosen as preseason #7 in the conference which means the Jackrabbits need to keep the home winning streak alive and show that the win at Sioux Falls last year was an anomaly as the series is 26-5 now. Go Jacks!!

Wingett hot early. Nothing yet from Freideil - WIU obviously read the scouting report. not giving him any open looks.

They need to double up on tonight's free hot wings promo but make this one about Wingett's trey percentage

You can see his confidence go up with every second that he is on the court.

Shot almost 60% again, 10/21 from deep again, and everyone in uniform scored.

The Jacks have made 40+ 3’s over the last four games (46%). I thought I read here in EARLY November that there were “no shooters on this team”. You have to love fan forums!

In other words, the same way we lost to Nebraska.

I wouldn’t bash on usd too bad now. They have a talented team that will get things figured out and likely be in the running to win the summit by the end of it.

Everyone who could play for the Jacks, did play (and score). And just for the record, Owen King was not the last to get into the game. That distinction went to Beau Brown and Aaron Fiegen.

A couple of really impressive wins in that home stand.

Let's see what they can do on the road this week!

This team seems to be really playing well together. Both of these games were fun to watch. Arians has done a good job of taking care of the ball in Keys absence although Key would definitely help us on transition. It is so good to see the Jacks working hard on the defensive end. That will win us a lot of games and makes them so much harder to beat. The passing on the team is really good. They all move it well and Dentlinger in particular. What a jump he has taken since last year.

They are really young but they have a chance to be a better team at the end of the year than last year. I think we can all agree that we were worried about how this season was going to go. New coach, losing 4 key players including the GOAT Jack, and a lot of new faces. That is gone for me. This is going to be a really good team with athleticism we've never seen before.

Get to Frost and watch these guys.
