  • 2019-2020 WBB Summit League Conference

The Mastodons have a nice you tube stream for their opener against the Yotes. They yotes turned in a ho hum game and walk away with 62-41 victory for 2 wins on the road. This was a good day for the yotes to shoot 2-12 from 3pt,

Leathernecks get a 2OT win at Fargo 79-78. The Bison women are showing a pulse this year.

The Mavs get into the win column against ORU. Lange may be in Sioux Falls this March.

UND looks to be tougher this season. If any of those projected to finish the Summit season higher than them falters even a little, I could see them rise a notch or so easily. They could really cause the standings to shuffle around more than usual if they get some upsets, mainly on their home court I'd say. The middle of the pack should be fun to watch this season as any of them can beat each other, and some can (don't know if they will) even pull off an upset.Good intriguing season so far.

Denver, WIU, & ORU are getting off to slower starts than expected. UND appears to be ready to slide above all of these teams.

The gamblers should have taken the overs today for women's basketball as there were many points scored this Sunday. Please don't come back if the under wins on USD/Denver is less than 166. UND has the young players in the rotation which may make them dangerous in the future. PFW offense must require a minimum of 2 dribbles after each pass and they still score 85. If UND is in the top 3, the Summit is soft this year.

Jan. 05 Purdue Fort Wayne * 85 North Dakota 91 Final

Looking at UND's record makes a guy worry. On the other hand, I watched PFW and the dogs play. If UND gave up 85 against PFW it makes me wonder WTF? PFW is bad.

I was surprised how PFW gave them a battle, PFW did play pretty well though, led a lot of the game, at ND.

Let's hope the bottom teams improve. It can only help the conference.

This is a dismal start with 3 teams sporting winning records in OOC and conference.

This will be another year where if either SDSU or USD can sweep the other team, they should go undefeated in conference. The UND games and @ Denver might be close but both SDSU and USD should win out. This reminds me a a couple of years ago when everybody was going crazy over USD going undefeated in conference through the regular season. You only have to win 3 or 4 games to accomplish that feat for WBB in the Summit League. I think SDSU should be able to accomplish this missing (arguably) 3 of their top 8 players.

USD more than likely gets an at-large this year if they don't win the SLT title. SDSU needed a couple more non-conference wins to be in the conversation IMO. Injuries likely cost the team a shot at that.

I agree that USD has a great shot (and probably will) to get an at large bid and SDSU has probably no chance to get one.
I read my post and it isn't real clear but what I meant is IF SDSU swept USD, they should be able to go undefeated in conference even though they are really injured this season.
The odds are fairly good that USD does it again unless SDSU gets healthier soon. If SDSU gets healthier, I see a 2-1 series between the two teams going either way. Theisen is out but if Myah and Nelson come back and are 100% there would be some good games ahead (like most years).
