  • Oregon Ducks preview

With all that is going on which is uncertainty surrounding the men's program, there is a certainty in that the women's basketball has a big game against an elite team on Friday after many will have gone to bed. At this point in time, the 2018-19 SDSU WBB could also be considered among the elite and there should be a heck of a game in Portland. The Duck Twitter link is included here to watch pregame from the other side as well.

Oregon has gone 4-0 against the Portland field. Mississipp St, Arizona St, and SDSU have all played the Ducks this season without a win among them.

      Oregon Ducks preview

In addition to some national stuff, SDSU definitely is getting plenty of extra local media coverage this week. I’ve seen plenty of pieces on multiple news casts, newspapers and social media in general. Hell, even the Coyote-loving Yankton P&D had a big Jackrabbit logo on the top of the front page today. This is good stuff for keeping it a blue state!

Here are a couple pieces from Mitchell today:

Now that the Jacks have gotten used to their temp new digs up in Oregon, and have settled in, everyone is wondering how high the bar will go, myself included. This is all new territory for all of us, it's all pretty exciting. The "quest" has always been set at reaching the "sweet 16" , having accomplished that after two agonizing near misses, it's got to be an enormous load they can now free themselves of. For me, I'm just going to kick back and enjoy whatever comes from moving ahead will bring. Play free and rock the world. Whatever happens, the team has certainly made us, and all of SD proud. Good luck Ladies, play your best.

His contract probably had a Sweet 16 bonus, right? I sure hope so. It would be nice to see his salary jump up around $300,000 mark if he sticks around. You won’t find any more of a sure thing nor a coach more able to get the most out of their current situation. Smack AJ with some of that TJ buyout money - quick!

                    Re: Oregon Ducks preview

Well Oregon has 4 losses on the year. The seeds for the 4 teams that beat the Ducks are 2, 4, 6 and 9 seeds. 3 of those losses came against conference foes. Oregon beat each of the conference foes in the first meeting and lost all 3 times the second time they played.

I do like the fact that we played Oregon once before, I think we can learn more from a loss than a win. I feel better about getting a win against Oregon.

The Oregon coach pointed out in his press conference the "connection" with SDSU's Frost Arena: it's named after Oregon PhD alum Reuben "Jack" Frost.

Wow, it was Oregon that got called Oregon St this time, what a switch, usually it's us they get confused....I got to think this is a good omen.

You missed Ionescu referring to the opponent (once) as "South Dakota".
