  • GDT: SDSU Jackrabbits vs ORU Golden Eagles @ Mabee Center

Mabee is often times a difficult place to play and the hosts will be playing point guard Kearns against the Jackrabbits this game. Nzekwesi is expected healthy today as well. ORU is 4-0 at home in conference. ORU will likely throw the zone at SDSU. We can hope the Jackrabbits can handle that as well as the game at Frost. ORU has some freshmen that are likely to be improving during the season and the home game is a plus for them. The Jackrabbits have been on an upward trajectory which will be needed for this road game. Jackrabbits should continue to build this senior season for Flatten, King, and Daum. Go Jacks!!

*3-1. They lost to NDSU by 10, 57-67. 4 of their 5 starters had 4 fouls each.

I better clean my glasses. They beat Omaha at Baxter. Thank you.

If you can beat us playing a zone defense I would say it would come down to one of two things. 1) you have a mighty impressive zone (not highly likely) or 2) we have a terrible shooting night (slightly likely). This could be another good game for Arians if they are going to try and shut down our zone busters.

The game at Frost had 9 assists for Alex and 7 assists for Tevin.

Well that's not a good start to the game. ORU sure has more energy to start. probably 10K in the stands also.

It takes a while to find the soft spots in the zone. Arians certainly seems to have found one - he has been so wide open that he does a double take before getting the shots off.

Yep, putting him in the middle to attack it really helped, so far he looks good there in the middle. I think this is going to be a hard fought game to the end.

Oru zone is wide open in the middle now. probably 10 points from good looks in there. ORU had energy to start the game but sure looks flat now. We are looking more energetic on D, just need to crash the boards more, seems ORU is getting some putbacks. but when you miss a lot of shots the chances for putbacks are higher. ORU went cold from outside which helps. The color guy for ORU has a fun accent which helps. They aren't totally homers IMO.

It’s kind of impressive we ended up with 44 points at the half considering how slow we started. No panic, just feel out the zone until you find the weak spots. Nice work.

Best officiated half I've seen all year. Letting them play.

ORU hit some shots early, but they have reverted back to being a not very good shooting team. Jacks are in good shape foul wise, and have a nice lead without either Daum or Jenkins going off yet. Flatten needs to be aggressive looking for shots.

                          Arians too many unforced turnovers.
