  • Roosevelt national park.

Any advice from our north Dakota friends or others who have been there. Next summer we are looking at taking the family their for a weekend. Kids will be 8, 5, and 1and a half then. Anything we should make sure we do or avoid? We did badlands and wind cave this summer so thought we would head north next summer. Kids enjoy hiking and outdoor stuff. I know they do junior ranger programs/activities at national parksso will probably do that. We are going to the hills so thought we would jaunt up north for a couple days. How's medora? As a tourist town I assume it's expensive. How soon do you have to book out for a hotel there? Assume weeneds are busier then during the week. Thanks anyone who can chime in.

Medora is a small tourist town that is great for walking around. The Medora Musical is really well done and the Pitchfork Fondue isn't bad. The kids will enjoy both things. Make sure to hit up the North Unit of the park towards Watford City, far less tourists and good trails. Bully Pulpit is a great golf course as well.

Hotels aren't bad even in summer. Americinn is fine and the TR Founddation owns the rest of the hotels in town. Badlands is cheaper and has a pool.
