Re: 2018 FCS National Updates and Story Lines

FYI, WIU @ Montana state tonight at 7 Mountain time. Stream is 10 bucks from MSU. It'll be a good chance to scout out the bobcats and their QB situation for next week. And WIU for that matter too. Huge game for playoffs later in the year for both conferences and these teams specifically.

Maine and UNH play at 6 Central for the Bryce Cowell Musket, one of the best rivalries in FCS. Big playoff implications in this game for both teams. Maine has been a historically song program and is looking to get back in the national picture.

And Delaware and Rhode Island play tonight as well. Could be a statement game for the Blue Hens. URI is historically terrible, but had a decent year last year. Delaware has a lot of preseason hype. It'll be fun to see what each program puts on the field in 2018.

You can watch Missouri State give up a TON of points to Oklahoma State on Fox Sports 1 tonight at 7. Mo St. is a 42 point dog and the total is set at 73.

Maine is taking UNH out behind the woodshed: 29-0 black bears going into the 4th.

Also, Delaware is losing in the second half to Rhody, and KSU is leading Georgia State. Of these scores hold, not a great way to start for UD and UNH...

Re: 2018 FCS National Updates and Story Lines

MSU wins it 26-23. A few thoughts:

MSU D: Bobcats play a really agressive D and blitz A LOT. They looked pretty sound in the agree conditions half on all fronts, agreeecondnd they seemail to have a good front 4. I expect they will test our O line a lot. Hopefully Taryn can evade the blitz or throw over it.

MSU O: Anderson is a strong runner, and he can throw the ball well within 10 yards...That's about it. MSU kicked 4 field goals and had a short field for a TD. Otherwise, they put together 2 good, full drives all game. They run the option quite a bit, and that could spell trouble. But they arent going to beat us over the top, and their QB isnt extremly fast. This will be a good test as to whether our D has progressed as much as we hope. Especially our run D. But from what I watched, this is not a very dynamic offense we'll be facing. It was more "single wing" than it was innovative. Stop the push up front (they have a good run blocking O line), and get multiple bodies on the qb, and it'll be tough for them to move the ball.

WIU: Played well all game, but got conservative and predictable on O in the second half, and it cost them the game. They run it well, and McGuire looked good, but they definitely don't seem like a team built to make a comeback. Very methodical and predictable. They were more consistent all game, but they just couldn't quite take advantage of some opportunities. Their O line got worked in the second half and gave up several sacks. With that said, I have a feeling they beat the Griz next week in Macomb.

JMU down 10-7. NC State not having any trouble moving the ball thus far.

JMU with a bad red zone turnover. NC State takes down field to score before half to increase lead to 17-7

So, Butler just beat Youngstown 23-21...

That's the kind of loss that might cost the MVFC a whole at-large spot.

Eh, I don’t give a rip about an extra MVFC at large spot. I really feel better about Hobo Day though and really enjoy ol Bo-Bo and his rapist losing.

Sounds like the 'guins got burned going for it on 4th and 1 from Butler 11 in 2nd quarter, missed a couple FGs (33 and 48yds), and Butler made their late FG
