But you dance with who brung ya. or so the saying goes. USD brought emotion as their dance partner, and when it gets the better of you it hurts. A team that relies on 1 player or 1 style of ball will often find that when they lose, that's what cost them the game, be it 3 pt shooting, rebounding, defense etc...
On the same token, that’s how mid major teams are built generally. Great at one thing that carries them.

The yote women are looking very sharp against Houston. The yotes are heads and shoulders above this team.

Yote women go from 22-10 after 1 quarter to 65-58 win. They host another game Sunday from the WIU vs CSU game.

Ryun Williams will return to Vermillion as the Leathernecks could not maintain the lead and fall to CSU.

The Colorado State coaching staff has three connections with USD and one with SDSU. Head Coach Williams was the USD head coach for four years (2008-12) following Chad Lavin's tenure. He talked Lavin out of retirement and Lavin is the CSU Director of Women's Basketball Administration. An assistant coach, Amber Cunningham, played for Lavin and Williams at USD -- she's the former Amber Hegge.

Another CSU Assistant is Carissa Thielbar. Thielbar -- yes, wife of SDSU and Minnesota Twins pitcher Caleb -- was a grad assistant (2011-12) and then an assistant coach (2012-15) under for the Jackrabbits.

Ryun Williams had tough return to Vermillion. Yotes pounded the Rams by 25. Round 3 will be played in Vermillion on Thursday.
