Re: GDT:SDSU Jackrabbits @ Drake Bulldogs

Jackrabbits shot 43.5% to Bulldog 54%. Jackrabbits had 69 shots to Bulldogs 50 shots.. That defense made some difference as well turning the Bulldogs over 24 times to 12 and 6 more offensive boards. Bulldogs spent much time covered by defense beyond 3 point line and throwing the ball over the defense and the cutter to the basket was not tall enough to make catch. Bulldogs could not outrun the defense on fast breaks either. Did anyone get the lowdown of play the led to technical? I have not recalled going to the replay for something like that type of reversal.

The Technical was a reversal of a blocking foul, which would have been on Lexi, taking Drake to a lead of 68-67, plus an and one attempt. Took Zebras 5 min to figure out Lexi was outside arc (questionable). Therefore, basket wiped out, foul changed to charge, and SDSU gets bb. In her disgust, she starts inciting crowd to get loud, and vehemently badgers refs for bad call (her POV). Get technical. Actually could see AJ getting such a technical if shoes reversed.

Was there a disagreement among the refs right away? The score changed, but it may have been too quick. It would seem odd for a review if the refs had agreed from the beginning.

I am not sure how many, but there were many charges on the Bulldogs. Their fullback-#20-was not going to make too many moves around people and the big scorers 12 and 50 each had 4 personals.

Yes, AJ reached out to one ref, who agreed to review, and the review overturned decision by another of the 3.

Drake coach had a few issues with the refs. i thought she would get T'd up for sure when she came out on the floor and confronted one ref and then gave up on that one and confronted the other one almost right under the basket. just couldn't believe they didn't T her up then--------so, i think she was skating on thin ice after that.

good win for the jacks. Drake can be a really tough out on their home court.

Drake plays pretty good defense too. We don't schedule very many easy games OOC, that's for sure. Good win, thought we could beat the defender and have a good drive to the rim a couple times, but that's just unnecessary nit picking. We played well, I can see where Drake is picked to win the MVC.
