  • GDT: Jackrabbits vs Coyotes The Corn Showdown continues & continues &

This is the game that will help determine the order of finish for the South Dakota schools. The bragging will extend beyond the bag of corn. Both teams will still visit IUPUI and WIU to further define the conference race. The Leathernecks invaded Vermillion last week and stole a road game. The Yotes will certainly want to duplicate that feat in Frost. A Arens is doing a solid job at the PG for the Yotes and it appears she should be starting regardless of any injuries to the seniors. The defense will keep her in the sights. Clarissa Ober should give the Yotes many problems in the paint even if she is running about 85%+. The big players for the Jackrabbits should help tip the game in favor of the Jackrabbits. Go Jacks!!

(Tune into ESPN3 or Midco at 2pm if you are not at Frost.)
Best to remember these are kids and they are doing everything they can to entertain us, be scholars, and all in all be great humans. Jackedforlife

Ober definitely will make it harder to get layups and rebounds than it was for the Coyotes last time. Fog, in particular will notice a big difference. Still, the Jacks can't afford to be off offensively like we were for one quarter the other night.

I'm looking forward to seeing this one in person. Big game.

Jacks up 37-28 at the half.

Ober just a huge difference defensively. USeD really has to work on the offensive end.

I'll take a 9-point lead considering the poor offensive game Guebert has had so far. She'll most likely do some scoring in the second half.

Great defense, no room to breath for USD. I dont think they even took a 3. Way too many whistles - though a lot of those fouls were obvious.

          Agree, defense has been suffocating.

Live stats say they were 0-4 from deep we were 3-11. We kinda let them back in it at the end of the half with some silly fouls.

Jacks finished half giving up to many fouls, and ft after having Yates down by 14 half way through 2nd qtr. Yotes haven't hit fg for last 6:30. Jacks D has been solid.

At half, Allison Arnes only 4 ft points, no fg. Great d by Jacks.

Arens is going to have nightmares about this game. She has made a living getting easy layups but this is not your typical Summit defense. They locked it down. Thats exactly the style of play I like to see as the season wanes. It is killer in a 3-game tournament format.

Overall great win for the ladies. So many times looked like we were going to turn the corner and put them away, it just couldn't make the big shot. Battled hard even though we looked tired in the 4th we kept attacking. Have to say the bench really is out of sorts which is concerning this late in the season. Viso played herself out of the rotation with terrible play in the first half. The two Sydneys really don't have any confidence in their ability to score. Luckily the big four continue to chew people up, even with Maddie having a bit of an off day from three.

                            Huge win!

Question for you....how many fans does Frost hold? What percent of the arena was filled for the women's game? Someone posted it was sold out on Facebook. I'm out of town on vacation. Just curious if it really was sold out?

congrats on the win. I'm not surprised
