Giving a point for a road win and deducting a point for a home loss, with home wins and road losses thrown out, here is where we stand.

    NDSU +2, UNO +1, W Il +1, Ft W 0, IUPUI 0, USD 0, Den -1, ORU -1, SDSU -2.
Kinda of a Lipstick on a pig situation. No matter what analysis is used, we are in dead last place.

This should be an interesting week on the WBB side. There will be more sorting of contenders from pretenders by Sunday.

      - USD has their easiest week of the Summit season, only playing FW at home. They're not going anywhere.

      - WIU has a shot to prove that they are the real deal when they bring their surprising 5-1 record into Frost.

      - SDSU can erase any thoughts that they might fall "back into the pack" without Miller if they win both games and finish the first half of the season 7-1. We're due for a tight game after a bunch of thumpings.

      - ORU @ IUPUI Thursday night: The loser picks up a fourth loss and unofficially kisses any shot at the regular season title goodbye.

      - I'm really surprised by NDSU's 3-2 record but have a hard time buying that they will finish in the top-5. Their only road game at one of the top teams was a 29-point slaughter at WIU. This week they go to IUPUI.

The mid point is interesting. Yotes are coasting into that corner. Ft Wayne may not win a game. WIU is an improved look, but I do not expect them to drop 110 on the Jackrabbits in any foreseeable outcome. There will not be 79 shots by one team that day. The Jackrabbits should hop out to the 3 point line and challenge those Leatherneck sharpshooters. The Denver trip should also remind the team of how a let up can be a problem on the road. I think it was 2 years ago they were surprised by a less talented group in the Mile High. ORU at IUPUI might be the edge for Jaguars. These teams will be in the 4-6 battle. Jaguars defense at home should rule this game. The Bison could still bring some game this season. They are still thin on the roster with some hopes of getting more players healthy which could fuel a run for the middle of the conference. They do play in Fargo against Omaha for the first game which should be a victory. Omaha finishes ahead of Denver for the 7 seed.

Never would I have imaged needing to cheer for the yotes to help the jacks keep pace for the 8th seed.

And they don't help us at all. Jacks now all alone in last place.

Ft Wayne up 3 with under 4 to go. Delay in action because the fire alarm is going off.

The long delay for the fire alarm took the momentum away from Fort Wayne. That's all we need is to have a pissed off Dons team come in on Saturday.

A pissed off Dons team that shoots the 3 exceptionally well..... They hit 16 tonight (51%) and are shooting 40%+ for the season. That's trouble. Big trouble!

As bad as its been, we are only 2 games out of 2nd place. Of course doesnt matter if we cant win a game

WBB: After Wednesday/Thursday the Cinderella slipper has definitely fallen off the foot of NDSU (lost last two by an average of 25 points) and ORU (4 straight losses). NDSU's next four games are against ORU, IUPUI, SDSU and USD - brutal. It will be really interesting to see what WIU can do at Frost.

The Leatherneck game will be an illustration of the Jackrabbit defense performing or it will be an illustration of how good the Leatherneck offense performs. The Bison scored 81 points at Macomb while giving up 110. The Jackrabbits should be able to score as well. WIU seems for real on offense. ORU & NDSU may have a few injury problems that have set them back. IUPUI losing by 20 at Omaha is a bigger surprise.

Big game for the women. Win, and you go a game up on them, tiebreaker, etc. Lose, and you fall a game behind with a return trip to Macomb still looming. This is definitely a swing game in the standings...

MBB - W Ill. at 3-4 may have a tough time getting another win. Their 2 home wins are Vs. ORU and the Jacks. The win at Ft. Wayne early is probably the upset of the year.

Road wins for us are going to be hard to come by. Winning out at home gets us to 6-10.

Gritty win, things look a lot brighter, proud of our guys! On to Denver! Go Jacks!!
