The Jacks has a very solid first day! As a team, they are right in the hunt at +2 which is in 6th place. They are only seven shots out of the lead and are only trailing #4 Illinois by 1 shot!

Grant Smith just finished on 18 and shot a -3 69 which has him tied for the lead! Alejandro Perazzo is tied for 11th after a -1 score of 71.

That was an important first day to go out and compete and be in the mix for the top 5. They've done that and can now get ready to grind for two more days and pull out a top 5 and advance. They can play with these guys. The talent is there. Keep it up!!!

They've got the players to make the top 5. Just need to put together solid rounds from 4 of the 5 guys. Winning the Summit Title and making it to the regionals is a fantastic achievement. Making it all the way to the NCAA Championship would be enormous for the program.

            Get after it men!!!

Not a great start, +4 so far, with a lot of other teams going low. Slid down to 12th in the team standings. Looks like our last guys on the course are about to make the turn.

SDSU finished +4 today to finish at +15 on the tournament. Not a great second day, which really hurt. Will likely finish 11th unless Penn State falls apart. Felipe Strobach finished at -1 and Grant Smith at E.

Looks like Florida, Illinois, Florida State, Arkansas and Baylor will advance. Baylor is going really low so far, they are -13 so far.

Each guy needs to improve by about 2 strokes for us to get in the top 5. It is easier said than done. Going from an 18 handicap to 16 is easy. Going from 2 to a scratch golfer is a lot harder. I believe most of the team is underclassman so it is possible.
