  • Best Basketball Year in South Dakota History

This is year was probably the best basketball year ever for the state of South Dakota. 2 national champions(1 was WNIT), 2 NCAA tournaments appearances, 1 NCAA tournament win, and a NBADL championship.

Augustana won the D2 National Championship
    USD women won the WNIT
SDSU women won a game in the NCAA Tournament
SDSU men had a strong showing in the NCAA Tournament
Sioux Falls Skyforce won the NBADL Championship

There was A LOT of great basketball played in the state this year. I thought it deserved recognition.

The DWU men made it to the national tourney and won one game. The DWU women made it to the elite 8. And the Mt Marty women made it to the final four

Don't forget that Sioux Falls also hosted D2 and D1 Tournament Rounds.

Not sure it fits here but didn't want to start a new thread. Ty Hoglund of Dell Rapids is 2016 Mr. Basketball. He'll be attending DWU.
