  • 2018 Recruiting List

This list is starting much earlier than one would expect. In Nebraska, big news has been made over Coach Riley's surprise offer to upcoming high school sophomore Cameron Jurgens. Jurgens is a team mate of incoming Jackrabbit recruit Jessup Workman. The Lincoln Journal Star reported on Monday that Coach Riley offered Jurgens after a big performance at a recent skills camp. What most don't pay attention to is that SDSU was the first to offer Jurgens the same night as the camp.
He’d shined at NU’s “skill positions” camp Tuesday, the noise of his impressive showing prompting an offer from South Dakota State before the night was through. Then he came back Friday to participate in “Friday Night Lights.” In one-on-drills in Memorial Stadium, none of his peers could seem to cover the 6-foot-3, 228-pounder.
The kid is probably out of our reach, but things happen while playing out your high school career and even after some college. Being the first to make contact and build a relationship can pay dividends down the road. Coach Jackson continues to lead in recruiting and not follow the trends of others.

Jurgens is Nebraska's first commit of 2018:
