  • Re: 2015 Summit MBB

6653 for Sunday mbb session. That should be, if not is, record Sunday attendance. Summit officials and Sioux Falls officials must be pleased with how tourney is shaking out. Guaranteed South Dakota school in final.

Chances to earn respect, I guess.

In what has been deemed a "down" year in the Summit, 4 of 9 teams are playing post-season tourneys. Seems to to go advancement of the league relative to when SDSU/NDSU/IPFW joined the Summit.

Its been a good year. No game is an automatic W anymore though the Jacks seemed to make it that way at Frost.

Adam Thoseby will not be staying in Vermillion for his senior year. He did not see playing time going forward.

It's also worth noting that Denver's Jalen Love will be transfering to D2 Newman.

It was also noted in article that IUPUI had a jump in attendance for the home season when they moved to the Farmer's Coliseum.

This is a big deal, and probably deserves its own thread. In case you didn't click on the link, the Summit League Men's Basketball Championship average of 8,903 fans per session, was the 9th highest average attendance of all DI men's college basketball conference tournaments this season. The tournament also posted the 2nd highest average attendance of all Mid-major conference tournaments.

I guess I better take back all those bad mouth comments I made about IUPUI and their attendance. Sorry about those.

CollegeSportsMadness is counting down the top 144 teams for the 2015-2016 season. NDSU came in at #116 ranking them 2nd in the Summit.

Thanks for the link, Oldhare. The article finishes with: "... South Dakota State should be productive enough in the frontcourt to slip past North Dakota State and get back to the NCAA Tournament."

As noted by SanDiegoState a couple of posts above, the same source ranks NDSU at 116 and Minnesota at 117. I didn't see any other Summit teams listed in the site's Top 144 rankings.

This is the type of article I will expect from the Argus of whom I pay exclusively for the SDSU coverage. Sorry to drag that convo. here, but it seems applicable.
