  • Re: Zenner continues to get attention

Why does anyone that has seen ZZ play believe he will play fullback? This is why I am a fan and not an NFL mind, apparently.

The Varga kid from Yale is ahead of him even. I shouldn't even try to understand.

CBS sports also has SDSU as part of the Gate (Gateway?) Conference. Umm... The Gateway Conference changed its name to the Missouri Valley Football Conference in 2008 (per wikipedia). With errors like this, are we surprised that they get FB/RB confused?

The fullback position for many NFL teams is different then the prototypical fullback position. More of a pass, block, special teams position.

Now I agree, I think he is more of a running back

Zenner is catching some analysts' eyes apparently:

Not sure the announcement from 3/20/15 about Zach Zenner receiving a postgraduate scholarship made this message board (Jason Schneider was one of the 10 finalists too).

                  From the MVFC website:

Former South Dakota State University running back Zach Zenner has been selected as one of two recipients of the 14th Division I Football Championship Subdivision Athletics Directors Association Scholar-Athlete of the Year award.Zenner, along with University of San Diego linebacker/safety Troy McClelland, will receive a $5,000 postgraduate scholarship. The duo was selected from a group of 10 finalists, which also included Jackrabbit wide receiver Jason Schneider. Zenner and McClelland will receive their awards in June duuring the FCS ADA's annual membership ...

A little more love for Zenner (I think anyway) from MSN Sports.

They list Zenner as a "Deep, Deep Sleeper". Not sure if that is a compliment or a knock but they are talking about him so I'm inclined to think it is good.

                      FWIW:

In a mock draft, NFL.com has Zach Zenner getting drafted in the 7th round to the Bills. (234 overall)

                      Crockett goes undrafted.

Star and Tribune, Zach's hometown paper, has him going as early as the 5th run, ahead of Crockett. Strib is Crockett's hometown paper too. Do you all agree that ZZ will go before Crockett? The Strib was saying Crockett would be a later round 6th or 7th.

Zenner is better. Think he's a 6th or 7th rounder. I don't think Crockett gets drafted.

Wouldn't be stunned if Zenner doesn't get drafted. Wouldn't be stunned if he makes the league either.

Does anyone know team is going to pick Zenner? A little surprised Zimmer hasn't let us know yet. If only TV were still around

All what it takes is one team to fall in love with a player who thinks another team is in love with the same player.
