  • Stig close to a record.

SDSU's win over Cal Poly put Coach Stig at 112 career wins (his record stands at 112 wins vs 82 losses), one short of tying Coach Ralph Ginn's record 113 wins (Ginn's career record was 113-89-9). Ginn coached from 1947-68. Stig took over the reins at SDSU in 1997.

He's a humble guy who won't spend 60 seconds thinking about a personal record.

Congrats to Coach Stig. The young men that have played for him are better for it.

I am happy for Stig and so is the spirit of Ralph Ginn. He was never afraid of taking on tough opponents like U of Toledo that they beat at their house about 1962. One more win and the record is broken

For the record (who knows, maybe somebody will research this thread some day), Stig got the record with the 41-3 win over UW-O.
