Jeeze. 3 Ks on 11 pitches is some ridiculous stuff.

Wow!!! The first one I looked up featured three pitches. Pair of sliders at 92/91 mph and followed up with a fastball at 100 mph on outside corner. The second gif featured a 98 mph sinker, 89 mph slider, and a 94 mph cutter at the outside corner. His slider and sinker have movement similar to a whiffle ball, but at speeds of 90+ you don't have much time to read it. It's just sick!

His nickname is the "witch". Seems apt for what he can do with a baseball.

Blake pitched the 10th last night and got the win vs Houston, now 6 - 2. Three Ks, no hits!

A's have a 3.5 game lead over Seattle in the wild card race! Long way to go.

Watching Blake against the Twins (8/23/18) and Minnesota's Keppler just tagged Treinen for a home run. That's only the second home run Treinen has given up this season. Score is now MInnesota 6, Oakland 3. Bottom of the 8th with 1 out.

Tweet from the A's - Blake is the first pitcher in major league history to save 30 games, compile an ERA of under 1.0 and strikeout 100 batters.

It will either be him or Edwin Diaz. Hard to say who voters will pick. Diaz had 20 more saves, better WHIP, FIP, K/9 and BB/9. But Blake had the 9 wins, lower ERA and no chance the A's make the playoffs without him. Going to be interesting to see the split of the traditional and analytically minded voters.

According to the East Bay Times, Blake was the only A's player not to sign before the arbitration deadline. IIUC most clubs treat the deadline as a hard offer. They are going to arbitrate, not continue to negotiate until the trial date. Blake made $2.15 Million last year and is projected to make $5.8 Million in 2019. Hearing will be during the first 3 weeks of February. It will be a one year deal.

I wonder if he's earmarking some of that for a Jackrabbit Club membership?
