Yes NDSU recruiting HAD a great run, until you go undeafted or win another national tittle remains to be seen how well it will be in the future. Unless NDSU is paying recruits under then table then i feel i have a pretty good idea. Or why dont you take your own advice and say since I dont know what SDSU has to offer maybe just keep quiet then. But being an NDSU fan thats probably impossible for you. Still you miss the point again and again, which I should probably stop wasting my time, but the fact is SDSU has things going for it it never had before, NDSU has its past going for it but with a new coach, the point is, SDSU has a chance to take a stronger effort to recruit more MN kids and twin cities kids then it has had in the past. Your ignorance is truly bliss isnt it. Unless NDSU is going to win every national championship every year, it only has one way to go, and thats down. I mean its not like a few years ago you guys had a losing record and we were winning the confrence championships, which you seem to forget about. its not like we have been as bad as USD, we have some good things going for us, not a 3peat, but we have stuff you are not willing to admit improves the stock of SDSU. enjoy riding on your high horse, hope it doesnt hurt to bad when you fall.

I refuse to get excited about a football recruiting class. Every class on average loses 25% of the recruits not to mention most recruits don't make a big impact until their junior years. That's three years down the road.

Comparing a football recruiting class to me is a big *$%# contest.

First of all, is it really a superiority complex when we just finished a 3-peat, went undefeated, and have 11 national championships...and we are being compared to a team is all-time 2-3 in the playoffs? Dealing with feelings of inferiority? Puuuuuulease. This is some good stuff...having an unbelievably better history than you would sure make us feel inferior. Hope that helps you sleep at night.

So...Stig has always done more with less. Any wonder why he hasn't been stolen yet? Maybe because he hasn't done that much. You will have some nice facilities and it will help. I believe I have admited some things (which you won't give me credit for...no surprise), but you just can't seem to grasp that the chances of you overtaking us would take decades. I'm glad you are happy with Stig. I'm very happy with Klieman. Let's see how the next 5 years pan out to see who is doing better.

It is really funny how you think by losing Bohl we are done. Do you think we were the sum of one person? You do not think we are a top-tier team that would/could get the best possible candidate for our level of football? You think you guys could do the same? Serious question? Look at what you offer Stig. Seriously...kind of funny. Your program is not willing to go all in...and until they do you will have to settle for 2nd best. Don't believe me, ask Nidaros for a history lesson.

Maybe their new coaching staff has connections in other key markets and doesnt focus on the twin cities like they did before. But we are approaching a more level playing field than most NDSU fans would be willing to admit.
There is no doubt it has leveled some...and hopefully the coaching staff gels and sticks around for a while. NDSU will not rest if things don't work out, though. Could you say the same for SDSU?

Level 1 defense mechanisms. Tab it’s a little worrisome when you clearly have several of these at the same time.

Delusional Projection: Delusions about external reality, usually of a persecutory nature. (Tab says we just don’t get it, why we will never get better. Something only NDSU fans can comprehend.)

Denial: Refusal to accept external reality because it is too threatening; arguing against an anxiety-provoking stimulus by stating it doesn't exist; resolution of emotional conflict and reduction of anxiety by refusing to perceive or consciously acknowledge the more unpleasant aspects of external reality. (By failing to see the gains at SDSU as a threat he is clearly in denial and will not accept it)

Distortion: A gross reshaping of external reality to meet internal needs.(Tabs thoughts, we were great before so we will continue to be great because Bisonville says it must be this way).

Splitting: A primitive defense. Negative and positive impulses are split off and unintegrated, frequently projected onto someone else. The defended individual segregates experiences into all-good and all-bad categories, with no room for ambiguity and ambivalence. When "splitting" is combined with "projecting", the negative qualities that you unconsciously perceive yourself as possessing, you consciously attribute to another. (Tab thinks only NDSU can be good and we must accept that and if we don’t agree he projects SDSU as a non factor and why can’t we see that)

Extreme projection: The blatant denial of a moral or psychological deficiency, which is perceived as a deficiency in another individual or group.( Obviously SDSU is a threat to Tab and will threaten his status as being the greatest even though it’s OK SDSU can be good too. Tab thinks that I am great and NDSU is great no one can ever compete with that).

If what we have had the last 5 years is the best we can ever do I am pretty sure SDSU will be pretty disapointed, I dont think Stig has a contract for life so if struggles come our way I have faith that the AD can and will make the right call when needed. We maybe are a little more tolerent of a bad season here and there but we sure dont like them. NDSU fans in general go off the deep end. I think we have done well being competitive, but I dont think SDSU is happy to stop there. If you think SDSU is going to let NDSU act like the only show in town, your going to be in for a big surprise.

I think Stig and company do a great job getting kids here and now with the new facilities, they will have more to offer. Please don't kid yourself though, there is no substitute for success. SDSU has come a long way from making the playoffs once in a million years to not only making it 3 times, but also winning a couple of games. I like the direction we are headed. NDSU, however, headed that direction a while ago and is patiently waiting for us.
                    Exactly.

We aren't even a month removed from NDSU winning its 3rd straight national title and we're trying to say there's some magical shift in the winds here? Can we please all get back to reality. If we are successful in ending their reign of terror this coming season, then we can say we're making up ground. The new facilities will undoubtedly help in the future and I think we've done a great job building up what we have. On the field against NDSU - we have to make that happen, it won't magically occur. They're the 3-time defending national champions.

It is funny how you have a big post about absolutely nothing...like most/all of your posts. You are going on a hope...hoping our new coaching staff isn't great...yet you still have the same coaching staff. You pull some decent players, no doubt...you even get a Zenner (worth exactly 4 yards) once in a while. History teaches you do nothing with them. History teaches the Bison will claw there way to the top. History is a good indicator of the future. Life is good to be a Bison, and for your to argue differently shows you just want to argue. Hey, it's your reputation...keep it coming.

I like how in one thread you argue post season success brings better recruits (even though the head coach is gone), while in another you argue post season success isn't a big deal for landing recruits (even though the head coach has been there forever).

Now that is some fantastic message board logic, you better sit down to catch your breath TAB.

No inside knowledge, but I think you are waaaay off base here TAB. We've had multiple assistants move up to FBS (or NFL for that matter) and retain title, I would guess Stig could do the same if he really wanted to. Stig has STRONG roots in SD. Not saying somebody couldn't snatch him away, but its not like he is dreaming of landing his dream job at Wyoming. Speaking of Wyoming, they must have 12 natties or something to lure a great coach like Bohl (and his recruits) away from NDSU. Either that or Bohl is a huge Rodeo fan. Just sayin'.
