As long as Gandy and/or Rodriguez are effective.

In the offensively happy Big Sky NAU is giving up 140 on the ground and 200 passing. The Jacks (not Lumberjacks) should be able to move the ball. They have a back with over 1300 yards, so hopefully this newly rejuvinated run defense continues. I also noticed they have 8 defensive TDs. That's a little scary. Turnovers kill, but pick-6s are devastating.
Take it from someone who lives at 9000 feet. There are only two ways to truly adjust to elevation. Spend a month or so at that elevation or get there the day of (or night before) and play before your body notices. We will be fine, these are 20 year olds who are in the shape of their lives. Elevation should not be, and won't be an excuse.

You would make me go look at their box scores! So if the Fuzzies would have scored a TD it would have been 14-10 going into the half, instead it was 21-3 and then right out of the gate in the 2nd half they got the second fumble return to put the game away at 28-3. Moral of the story...DON'T TURN THE BALL OVER!

I see one of the pick-6s was against USeD's now WR/RB/TE. Who knows what happens if Earl starts that day?

NAU is undefeated at home. Though I would argue the Fuzzies were the only formidable foe...a continuation of my shots at the Big Sky today.

Don't forget hydration! Start drinking water now and don't stop until you're done with the victory celebration.

Haven't seen, but what are the viewing options for this game?
Elevation will be a factor if the players do not hydrate. That is the key. I think we all can agree in the Game That Shall Not Be Named elevation played a part in the end. Let's GO RABBITS!

Gah! Stupid contract between ESPN and the NCAA. That means, even if you go to a sports bar, all they can do is put the Internet feed up on the big screen. I'll grant the feed of Youngstown was quite good, though I only watched on my laptop. But I couldn't even select full-screen mode. Hope Cubby's shows it somehow. Or BWW, I suppose.

Joe Glenn said the same on the Coyote coaches show prior to the Yotes game against NAU that the best way to handle the higher elevation as a visiting team was to spend as little time as possible at the higher elevation.

I'd go but I don't fly into 2pm (in Albuquerque), I'm in SD right now for the week. Flagstaff is a decent city. About 60K its at elevation (highest D-I team I believe). Its a pretty easy campus to get to. A bunch of new fast food restaurants are right by campus.

I'm going to guess that tickets will be pretty easy to get as its Thanksgiving weekend and they don't draw terribly well anyways.

Econolodge is right by campus and has rooms for $36 a night at hotels.com, its a cheap hotel but they do allow pets and your right there.

For those going I hope you have fun.
Are the roads solid from Phoenix and Las Vegas into Flagstaff?

Easy drives. I17 from Phoenix to Flagstaff. US93 & I40 from Las Vegas. Flagstaff is a nice town with good amenities. College town & ski town.

Re: 1st Round at Northern Arizona 7 pm Nov 30th

Keys to a Jackrabbit win are simple:

Stop Zach Bauman. He seems to be their entire offense. He has 1355 rushing yards with 8 TD as well as 41 receptions. He is their leading receiver in receptions. They use two QB's, who have a combined 14 TD's and 9 INT's.
Not saying it will be easy to stop him, but Bauman is their entire offense.

Their defense is described as "opportunistic," so we can't afford to botch a punt return, fumble or throw a INT (DUH).

NAU has played against 4 teams who finished with winning records this year. They went 2-2 in those games. They beat Montana and Southern Utah and lost to Arizona and Montana St. So I'm not sure how good they really are. They beat up on some cupcakes in the Big Sky. Beat 5-7 Sac State by 1 point, beat 3-9 Idaho State by 9 points, beat 4-8 USD by 6 points.

They average 8k a game and I would expect that the crowd this weekend to be less than or equal to that. Noise shouldn't be an issue for the Jacks.

Jacks need to show who the physical team is and represent the MVC well. They should play well and I expect them too. Is it Saturday yet? Go Jacks!

I streamed it through my Xbox and it was great HD throughout. I doubt Cubby's will have any issues.

Yeah Flag is right on the interstate, easy drive from both Phoenix and Vegas. Elevation is difficult, but as far as elevation sickness everyone is different. I'd get sick (light headed, dizzy, nausea) at night (wake up at 5am and feel as if I'd drank a case the night before). But after drinking water I'd feel fine (also had some zofran that helped).

Just drink a ton of water if you are going to watch and if you drink alcohol understand that elevation does affect your tolerance. As for the team, I'd just recommend water.

Elevation sickness?!? You can certainly tell we are a bunch of flat landers! We're talking about 7,000 feet here folks. You probably won't need an oxygen mask and Sherpa for trekking from the hotel to the stadium.

Remember that this is Jackrabbits vs LumberJacks. Both teams are Jacks. Better to be Rabbits this week than Lumber. Let's run over, thru and around the wood Rabbits!
