If anyone is interested in watching them test the video board, it is up and running on the webcam. Seems like they were putting up SDSU vs NDSU graphics.

Thought they were using the soy-based turf, like what is currently in the SJAC??

They are using soy based turf. The "infill" is rubber from recycled tires.

Alright, I guess I am not seeing the crumb rubber infill used in artificial turf elsewhere mentioned in those sources.

Quick question, I beleive the first layer (or 2) are impermeable. Which makes me question where the water ends up.

My guess would be through the pea gravel and out to drain tile around the perimeter of the field.

Thanks for the reply. I think you're correct. I'm curious as to where it goes after that. (Did they put a leech field under the field? Does it empty into a storm drain system?) I'm thinking it would be the same watershed as a parking lot. Civil engineers?

Speaking of the parking lot, the hard surface has been removed on the west side to be replaced.

I'm sure it has been beat up pretty bad with all the construction equipment staged there the past 2 years.

Guessing they are just taking out what is necessary to build the new entrance plaza and whatnot.

That Google image must be from a couple of years ago due to the east side bleachers, lack of west side grandstand construction and only having the UPD foundation, right?
