  • Exhibition match with Winnepeg

The 13-14 season is under way. The soccer team is leading Winnepeg 4-0 at the 75 minute mark.

Make that 6-0 at the 85 minute mark.

Wow, that is amazing. State played so well the opponents lost a point?

Alexa Trakalo and Stacy Guijarro each score three goals in 10-0 Jackrabbit victory over Winnipeg in women's soccer exhibition.
Message for the youth: “Set your goals high and work for them, because if you set your goals where they should be, it’s going to require a lot of hard work. Interesting game set up. I assumed the game was over after 45 minute periods and reported as a final on the summit league site. reported on live stats, but it continued on to 110 minutes. Good practice in an exhibition game.

Actually, they played one 45-minute period, and then two 25-minute periods. Agree with Rabbit74...it was an unusual setup, but think it was because it was an exhibition, first outing, and Winnipeg had a pretty short roster on the trip. Congrats to Coach Lang and the Jacks!

I was shopping at HyVee about 3PM and the entire soccer team stopped and took advantage of the buffet. Apparently they did not eat too much since they scored 10 goals. I noticed the assistant coach was watching what and how much was put on their plates. A great start for this season.

Nice win or practice depending on how you look at it. Next week will be the real test against Iowa St and Loyola. Iowa st will have more athleticism and technical skill.. Loyola should be similar to summit league opponets. Should be an entertaining weeked of games.
