Lets hope he's proactive and gets at Makiah Slade (and also Drwal and Stick as well)....that would be one hell of a start for our secondary recruiting this year if we get Slade(I fear he is gonna blow up by signing day). Slade and Carr are probably overall the two best athletes on our offer list....one down, one more to go!

Hopefully State can keep him. He's got fantastic ball skills for a corner.

This is a good sign that Nebraska is our market and not NDSU's. They have cut into this recruiting territory in recent years. Our competition used to be UNO and the Husker walk-on program. The walk-on program will always be there, but having Nebraska talent driving through Brookings on the way to Fargo was a trend I did not want to see.

I would agree, all said, but also recognize what Jay Brubak, Josh Davis and others had in drawing Carr to SDSU. I believe Davis played at Burke. Could be wrong there.

                Re: 2014 Recruiting List

According to this story that aired last night on KLKN-TV here in Lincoln, we can move RB Austin Rose (Lincoln North Star) from Interest to Offered.

@TerryVandrovec: Tyler Lindsey, a 5-10, 185 CB from Owasso, OK, said that he has given a verbal to play football at SDSU. http://t.co/0aBBa1K4uY

Nice to see 2 verbals before August. Hopefully we have a nice continual flow of verbals up till signing day.

I'm going to guess Coach Stig helped lock this one in. Here's his twitter handle: @Tlindsey_3

Daurice Fountain received an offer from State. He's a WR from Madison Memorial HS in Madison, WI. Source: @thebadgernation

Interesting note about Tyler Lindsey, he was one of the recruits that attended our spring scrimmage during the blizzard in Sioux Falls. Looks like a good 2nd commit.

                          Re: 2014 Recruiting List

Updated the list today of potential recruits who have signed elsewhere. One interesting signing was Tristan Butcher going to Charlotte. First of all, I love the name of Butcher for a linebacker. Of other interest is that he chose to go to Charlotte where they will be playing their first year of football since 1948. Charlotte will be an independant FCS team for two years and will officially join Conference USA in 2015 when they become FBS elligible. The 49ers will not be eligible for a bowl game until 2016.

I'm guessing Butcher chose a school that fit him better, including the chance to likely play earlier and be part of something new. Good luck mister Butcher!

Most of the recruits that we are losing to other schools are going to the power conferences in the FBS. While it would be nice to land some more of these kids, it is a very good sign that we have the bar set high for quality recruits.

According to Travis Wilson Alex Romenesko suffered a season ending knee injury. He's on the offer list.

The Omaha World Herald did a feature on the Super Six Team of top high school players in Nebraska. Jackrabbit commit Trey Carr is one of the featured six players. Easton Stick is also featured and his bio on the World Herald continues to list his SDSU offer with offers from NDSU and Akron. I find that interesting as according to Rivals, he has 6 offers including USD, UND, and Northern Colorado.

These recruits are in good company and it shows that we are competing with top collegiate programs in recruiting. The other four players are:

D.J. Foster - Husker recruit who is considered one of the better offensive linemen in the nation.
Luke Gifford - Another Husker recruit at safety. SDSU did recruit, but no offer was listed according to Rivals.
Mick Stoltenberg - Husker recruit at DE. SDSU had an early offer on this 3-Star recruit.
Harrison Phillips - Stanford recruit at DE. Also had an early offer from SDSU and a total of 23 offers from D1 schools.
