*note Greenfield voted against it; he voted against Dykhouse Center when it was getting approval.
Greenfield could use this facility to improve his physical fitness. Yours truly would also benefit.

The SDSU facility covered by SB11 should have even fewer opponents. There's a significant difference between the projects in sources of money. The USD facility will be constructed using bonded indebtedness as a source of some of the funding (in the bill, total cost estimated is $48,200,000* with up to $22,700,000 authorized for bonding) while the SDSU project does not involve bonds (in the bill, total cost estimated is $32,000,000* with none coming from bonds). You can read each bill on the legislature's website (follow the link provided by UWMandSDSU).

*each bill has language stating the amounts were 2012 values and providing for the potential for an increase in costs up to a certain percentage.

Brock Greenfield.......I'll just stop right there.

Why would politicians vote against the Senate Bill 11 in the first place? It is good for SDSU and the State of South Dakota.

Well considering how progressive the state of South Dakota is ...

I have little respect for our state legislators. We have some real good ones (maybe 20%), but the remainder of them are clowns or worse. Within the last ten years, we had one get in trouble for raping his underage foster kids, and another get caught with drugs and child porn.

I know several of them personally, and I wouldn't trust them to babysit my dog.

I think nearly all of the legislators will eventually say they voted for or against something because their vote was good for South Dakota. They believe that.

Yes I know, but I'm curious as to what the potential cons were that they voted no or if they have an agenda or they could just be plain old if incompetent at their job.

Brock Greenfield is from my home district and is one of the worst. He gets by on name recognition because he has been out in Pierre for 15 years. I've wrote to him multiple times about higher Ed issues with no reply back and then a vote in the opposite direction of what I was advocating. He is not a friend of higher ed, even though he graduated from Northern. He is a small thinker who enjoys running his bar and wiping off windshields at his gas station.

No doubt he helps himself to sour cream and onion chips too. Probably nibbles between serving drinks. On a slow day he has to call his vendor Old Dutch cause he is running out of chips. The Old Dutch guy has to love him.

And he's a D**K. He straight told us he was against anything SDSU and has shown it with his voting Record. Don't like that guy at all. Someone with half a brain and some money should run against him.

I have voted against him before he switched houses due to term limit. Greenfield is the perfect example of why I vote split ticket. There needs to be someone to take him out of the primary rather than the general election. Greenfield has enough party support and local support to keep showing up.

Brock Greenfield: The Stu Whitney of The SD legislature.

                            pretty much sum's it up.

Thanks to the Tea Party thinking, I believe the rest of us are starting to learn about primaries and what they can do if they have the votes. I dont believe I said that, but give credit where credit is due.

I feel bad for him more than anything else. I attended a legislative day in Pierre last Monday and met with several of the members of our state house and senate. Lets just say I came away less than impressed. Maybe it is because we are spoiled here in Yankton with Lt. Govenor Matt Michels (R) Bernie Hunoff (D) and Jean Hunoff (R). Three thoughtful, intelligent and experienced individuals that have very successful careers outside of politics.

My own impression of the majority of the legislators was that of small minded individuals protecting their special interests regardless of the bigger picture. Mr. Greenfield is a more extreme example of that. I use to waste my time corresponding with him and thought I knew better. I've now just wasted by time typing the reply.
