  • Amazing Numbers Concerning Oral Roberts and The Summit League Tournament

I think these numbers say it all.

The Golden Eagles own a 45-1 (.978) tournament record.
Under coach Rob Walton, ORU is a perfect 24-0 in Summit tournament play. ORU has won 36 consecutive Summit League Tournament games since last suffering a loss to Southern Utah in 2000.

A bad hop. A poorly pitched game. A missed call. The ball got lost in the sun. There are so many things that are out of a teams control in a baseball game. To win 36 straight games in conference tournament play is truly amazing.

Side Note - Former SDSU player/coach Jake Angier is the pitching coach for NDSU. Good luck Jake!

Hmm. Could ORU be disappointed by Dakota schools in their three big sports during their Summit swan song?

NDSU 4 - ORU 3 in 10 innings. ORU will have to win 3 straight to keep the Summit League title!

The Bison seemed to have peaked at the right time. Let hope they dont make a habit of it in baseball.

Good luck today Jake. Would love to see you in the NCAA tourney. There would be nothing better than ORU falling in their final conference tournament @ home.

Looks like everyone else in the Summit League now has a chance to win a baseball championship. ORU rallies to win the title again. Go Rabbits!

Over on Bisonville, they mentioned that the Bison loose a ton of players to graduation and this was suppose to be their year.

We are losing some good people, but also have a lot coming back. I think it's still a pretty young team. Gabe and snake are "glass half empty" type of posters.

Big losses are Nick Anderson(LF), Max Casper(SS), Nick Colwell(1B), Tyler Steen(C), and Zach Wentz(P). Granted, that is a big chunk of our skill positions, but our sophomore class is loaded. We probably won't be a 40-win team like this year, but a big part of that was an SOS in the bottom 20. I'll bet on either the 1 or 2 seed for next year's conference tourney. Hope you guys are the other one.
